Katy Bassmasters is a B.A.S.S. Federation Nation affiliated club that started in January of 2002. Although the group started out small, we have been gaining in membership with each passing month. Our current membership is more than 30 members. The club is open to men, women, and their family - we welcome one or all, especially youth participation. Although Katy Bassmasters will accept 13 year olds who can fish club tournaments, a youth must to be at least 16 to fish Federation tournaments. We have a youth club as well for kids as young as 3 up to 18 years old. Meetings are held every other month starting in January on the third Wednesday at 7:30 pm in the Conference Room located at the back of the fishing tackle department of Bass Pro Shop in the Katy Mills Mall. Membership in Katy Bassmasters is $80 annually and you have to be a member of Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.)(required). Membership breakdown is:

president with a check for dues. All new members received a Katy Bassmasters embroidered hat with paid membership. Katy Bassmasters fish in the Southeast region of the Texas B.A.S.S. Federation Nation and participate in six (6) tournaments a year. Anglers may pair up in one boat, but must weigh their catch individually. This is not a team format. Each angler is competing for total points during the tournament season to qualify for the Top 40 Championship which is held at the end of the season on a Mystery Lake decided by the Southeast Region directors. Prospective members do not have to live in the Katy area to join. We have members from several towns across Southeast Texas.
